AUCKLAND, Today: New hires and notable lead agency appointments are taking Motion Sickness from strength to strength, the agency reported in an overnight PR release.
After competitive pitches, it’s added Sorted (Te Ara Ahunga Ora/Retirement Commission) to its client roster, as well as securing a spot on the Auckland Council Group’s creative agency panel.
The Auckland Council Group includes Auckland Transport, Auckland Council and Tātaki Auckland Unlimited.
Agency founder/ECD Sam Stuchbury declined to identify the incumbent agency for Sorted: “That was kept confidential, sorry,” he told M+AD (who believes it may have been FCB).
Sorted marketing director Vanessa Morris said: “We’re on a mission to help people make the most of their money today, so they can enjoy a better retirement tomorrow.
“We wanted a new agency partner that could help us on that mission and create work that will drive behaviour change.
“We were impressed with the thinking and experience Motion Sickness brought to the table. We are confident they are the right partner to take us forward, and will bring a fresh approach to the Sorted brand.
“The award-winning work Motion Sickness had done with Netsafe and Fire & Emergency demonstrated their disruptive approach to connecting with our youth and Māori audiences.”

Chelsea Knowles said: “I knew there was something different going on at Motion Sickness, so I was stoked when I got the opportunity to go behind the scenes. So far I’ve found a whole lot of great people, exceptional brands, and a real ambition to make meaningful change.”
Schumacher Leona said: “I visited Motion Sickness last year for uni and I thought their work was sweet. Being a part of them now, with the briefs I’m working on, I’d say it’s lived up to the hype and I’m excited to do big things here.”
Joe Fraei said: “As a long-time observer of the work, I’m thrilled to be joining the team at a time where the agency is going from strength to strength. It’s hard not to be inspired when you’re surrounded by brilliant people, trusting clients and meaningful mahi.”
Ambitious
Agency GM Alex McManus said: “We have big ambitions for the year ahead, and they all centre around working with more brands that want to think differently.
“We have a great group of clients that are continuously asking us to push the boundaries – and with some talented humans joining the team, our door is always open for the next challenge.”
