Cantabrian recognised with PRINZ Liffe membership

Felicity Price ONZM has been made a Life Member of the Public Relations Institute of New Zealand (PRINZ) for her services to the profession over more than three decades.

Starting her career in Christchurch in the late 1980s, Price was recognised for her extensive contribution including as a former PRINZ national president, an Accredited Practitioner (APR) examiner, an awards judge, and for mentoring many young practitioners.

In her citation, chair of the PRINZ Fellows Committee, Jackie Curtis, said Price was also actively involved with many Christchurch arts organisations and charities, including helping initiate the hugely successful Red Nose Day campaign

PRINZ inducts only a handful of Life members, with fewer than 20 currently.

Also inducted as a Fellow of  the Institute is Phil Johnstone, a PRINZ member for over two decades. Currently Strategy & Growth Manager for the international development work of Plant & Food Research (PFR), Phil has use his communication skills to assist international development and aid organisations. In 2019 he was accepted as a Communications & Public Information specialist on the UN-recognised RedR Australia Emergency Roster and in 2022 he completed a deployment in Romania and Ukraine as Interim Communications Lead for the World Vision International Ukraine crisis response.

“Across both corporate and not-for-profit sectors Phil has demonstrated leadership, innovation and expertise. He consistently walks the talk – with a clear commitment to best practice, including alignment with the PRINZ Code of Conduct, and professionalism for himself, his PR teams and the organisations he works for,” Curtis says.

Both inductees were announced at the PRINZ Awards evening held recently.
