AUCKLAND, Today: The first and second rounds of judging for the 2023 Aotearoa Effie Awards in association with TVNZ has been completed, and the finalists have been revealed.
This year’s theme for the Effie Awards is Awarding Ideas That Work, celebrating the most effective advertising campaigns in Aotearoa over the past year.
Lisa Divett, this year’s convenor, commented, “We are cognisant of the enormous amount of work that goes into an Effie, with the writing of a well crafted paper being the final touch to what is often years of collaboration between client and agency partners.
“So a massive thank you to all of you incredible people who have contributed to the work we are now celebrating as we have been delighted with the calibre of entries this year.
“Effie finalists (so far) include DDB, Special, Wave, OMD, MBM, Spark Foundry, Saatchi, TBWA\, The Monkeys, Colenso, Motion Sickness, YoungShand, Clemenger, VMLY&R, EightyOne, Proximity, and Quantum Jump.”
“We are also stoked to have a whole new generation of superstars learning how to become passionate advocates of great effective work due to the successful introduction of the shadow judging process this year.
“A panel of 160 industry peers conducted the first round, with an additional 70 completing the second round.
“The quality of entries impressed the judges, making the selection of just over 115 finalists across various Effie categories all the more challenging.
“With one final round of judging to go, this year’s executive judges are some of Aotearoa’s leading marketers.
Winners and finalists will be celebrated and awarded at the Effie Awards Show on Thursday 26 October at the Auckland Town Hall.
