AUCKLAND, Today: Special had a dominant night at the APAC Effie Awards, winning 3 golds and 5 silvers and a bronze. They also claimed both ‘Agency of the Year’ and ‘Independent Agency of the Year,’ marking their second double win.
To achieve this, they faced stiff competition from major agencies like Leo Burnett Mumbai and Ogilvy Sydney, as well as strong New Zealand contenders, including DDB and Colenso.
Rory Gallery, Special’s Chief Strategic Officer, attributed their success to their multidisciplinary team approach, highlighting its ability to give brands an edge.
“It’s been an incredible year of Cannes Grand Prix and Gold Lions.”
Tony Bradbourne, Special’s Founder, emphasized their unwavering focus on effectiveness, driven by inventiveness and audacious creativity. Winning gold awards for clients in both Auckland and Wellington offices was a notable achievement, particularly for Special Wellington in its inaugural year.
The Asia Pacific Effie Awards honor outstanding marketing and communication work that delivers proven results aligned with strategic objectives, championing marketing effectiveness.
“It’s been an incredible year of Cannes Grand Prix and Gold Lions, D&AD and AWARD Pencils and being named ‘Global Creative Agency of the Year’ by Campaign UK but completing the story, and the link between creativity and effectiveness, that the best creative ideas are the most effective ideas, is a great moment.” Says Bradbourne.
