Eyes and Ears Director, Calvin Sang, has dialled up the office quirk for Grabaseat’s latest New Year campaign, inspiring customers to dream about their next holiday escape.
Air New Zealand Grabaseat have collaborated with Eyes and Ears over the past four years, working together across a range of Grabaseat videos and the now infamous new year sale spots.
Featuring exceptional comedic talent, Jim Cawthorn, the different series now serve as an unofficial Grabaseat multiverse – a hyperbolic yet relatable world that inspires one to get out (of office) or get away with the family (Hamily) and travel.
Grabaseat have found the success of their adverts comes from the dry, but engaging ‘Kiwi’ humour, something that the team at Eyes and Ears excel in. Calvin says “Grabaseat is one of the rare brands that isn’t afraid to say yes to some pretty crazy ideas. It’s always a great time cooking up a new video idea with the team”
For the latest installment, the Director aimed to create a stereotypically bleak, green-grey office haze, with comedic sparks coming from a range of colourful characters that each have their moment.
Having worked with Jim Cawthorn now on three previous Grabaseat campaigns, Calvin developed the creative around his incredible comedic timing and ability to improvise.
David Mackenzie, Manager of Grabaseat said “When working with Eyes and Ears, creative sparks fly, ideas take shape, and together we turn imagination into reality. We always look forward to seeing what Calvin creates and this new series didn’t disappoint.”
