OMD New Zealand has swept the podium at 2024 Young Lions Media, with the top three awards all going to teams from the agency.
The finalists were announced last week as they were treated to an inspiring morning at Axis Speaks 24. Following this OMD found out that they had placed 1st, 2nd & 3rd in the competition.
In total there were 40 teams of two in the Young Lions media competition, with nine teams from OMD. After rigorous juding, five of them made it as finalists. The judges then awarded bronze, silver, and gold to OMD.
OMD is pleased to be able to participate in the competition and support the Young Lions programme in conjuction with the Comms Council & Stuff as sponsor of the media division.
Nigel Douglas, CEO OMD New Zealand, says, “We’re so proud of our young talent. It’s incredible to see the next generation of media stars coming through.”
Rachel Stewart, General Manager OMD New Zealand, said, “I’ve long been a supporter of the Young Lions programme, it was great to be involved this year and fantastic that New Zealand gets this opportunity to send a team to compete on the global stage.
“The calibre of the work judged across all 10 finalist teams was extremely high, however the top team’s winning idea was born from a great creative media led concept that judges felt gave them the edge to take out the competition.”
The winning pair will be heading to Cannes in June to represent New Zealand on the world stage.
