UnLtd, originally started by Kiwi Kerry McCabe, is a social purpose organisation that connects the media, marketing, creative & tech industry to help charities supporting young Kiwis at risk. We help charities grow in a sustainable way by connecting them to long-term partners, equipping them with branding and marketing skills & assets and building campaigns and fundraisers that have longevity. We rally the advertising industry behind big issues, like youth homelessness, bullying and mental health, to use our collective skills to make a difference through what our industry knows best – media, marketing, tech & creativity.

We are currently looking for a General Manager for UnLtd Aotearoa to continue our growth in New Zealand to allow us to help even more Kiwis at risk.

Objective of the role:

The GM, New Zealand will be the face of UnLtd in the NZ market. They will represent and champion the brand, whilst building on and growing our corporate partnerships, spearheading local sales initiatives, and being the local liaison for our NZ based charity partners. Responsibility is to grow awareness and understanding of UnLtd, grow the value that we drive to all partners (charity and corporate) and increase the revenue brought into UnLtd, so that we can drive more funds to our charity partners.

Role overview:

The GM, NZ will work closely with the Commercial Director, Director of Partnerships, CMO, COO and CEO to drive our monetisation and value strategy. The role requires strong interpersonal and organisation skills, a solid commercial background, experience and connections in the media, marketing and advertising industry and the ability to manage, prioritise and deliver across a diverse range of projects. The successful candidate must be strategic, have the ability to hustle and be an exceptional communicator. Passion to change the world and shoot for the stars is a pre-requisite.

Establish, manage and grow Corporate Partnerships (50%)

  • Establish new Social Impact partners to drive growth, connection and value from our Corporate Partners
  • Execute local initiatives across these partners
  • Create and execute on an annual Strategic plan delivering on a mutually agreed value target for the NZ market
  • Explore opportunities to grow awareness and sales of MOOD Tea in the NZ market

Events (30%)

  • Identify opportunities for us to be a benefactor and partner of existing corporate events (in and out of our industry)
  • Sell UnLtd event opportunities and sponsorships to corporate partners
  • Maximise opportunity to raise funds at events
  • Build on successful AU Gold package approach to roll out in NZ, in accordance with strategic plan
  • Advise on opportunities to launch new events in local market

Manage Charity Partnerships (10%)

  • Work closely with the Director of Partnerships and team on a charity management plan
  • Act as local liaison point for NZ charity partners, including being able to facilitate immersions, meetings, attend events etc
  • Become adept and knowledgeable on all NZ based charity partners and advise and feedback to Director of Partnerships on performance, new prospects, etc

Operational Management (10%)

  • Establish and maintain board reporting, revenue reporting, value reporting and forecasting in conjunction with COO and Commercial Director
  • Track, manage and follow-up payments / donations from partners where necessary
  • Be ambassador of UnLtd at local events and media opportunities where relevant
  • Document written proposals, and monitor all partnerships to ensure positive and purposeful activities
  • Analyse, evaluate and communicate impact and value of all partnerships

Key competencies, Qualification and Experience

  • Excellent commercial management and sales skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including building effective relationships, relationship management and problem solving
  • Excellent organisational and administrative skills with strong attention to detail
  • Highly motivated self-starter with the ability to work autonomously
  • Team player who is happy to roll sleeves up and help where required
  • Passion to change the world
  • Sense of humour, ability to have fun
  • Highly developed written, oral communication, negotiation and presentation skills
