Obvious Brand and Alzheimer’s NZ launch Create for Dementia year two

WELLINGTON, Today: Obvious Brand Partners is excited to continue its partnership with Alzheimer’s New Zealand for the second annual Create for Dementia campaign.

This event engages the creative community to support Kiwis living with dementia mate wareware. Set for June 2024, this month-long event invites creators of all skill levels to participate and create for a cause.

Last year, Create for Dementia rallied nearly 150 teams and individuals, raising over $ 35,000. This year, the goal is to double the impact with a $ 70,000 target.

Participants can register online and set a personal creative challenge for June. Any form of art is welcome—from painting and crafting to performing arts and digital media.

The campaign fosters a vibrant online community, bringing together artists and supporters from across New Zealand. “Creativity is not only an outlet for expression but a powerful tool for cognitive health,” says Catherine Hall, Chief Executive of Alzheimer’s New Zealand.

“We invite everyone to join in, from knitters and bakers to woodworkers and graphic designers. Every creation counts towards fighting dementia mate wareware.”

Creators can register at createfordementia.org.nz and are encouraged to fundraise by sharing their progress and final pieces on social media with #CreateForDementia.

This campaign offers a unique opportunity for artists to showcase their talents while supporting a cause that affects nearly 70,000 Kiwis today.
