Current affairs title North & South has a new digital home on The Post, following a partnership with Stuff’s Masthead Publishing business.
With North & South known for its quality journalism, exclusive and in-depth content, it is a natural fit with Stuff’s national digital masthead The Post, says Masthead Publishing Managing Director Joanna Norris.
The content is also available on South Island’s The Press, and The Waikato Times’ digital sites, enabling North & South to reach a broader audience of more than 750,000* New Zealanders.
Around since 1986, the magazine was shut down as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic in 2020. It was resurrected later that same year by independent publishers Verena Friederike Hasel and Konstantin Richter.
‘Staple of Kiwi journalism’
Last year, North & South was acquired by Greg Partington, owner of Waitapu Group, who says the new partnership allows North & South to share its rich heritage across New Zealand.
“North & South has been a staple of Kiwi journalism, providing deep dives into the issues that matter. This collaboration ensures our well-loved magazine reaches an even broader audience, bringing its compelling and insightful journalism to more New Zealanders.”
Norris adds, “Stuff mastheads are committed to beautifully told New Zealand stories and North & South has been delivering those for the past 38 years.
“We both value our subscribers deeply and this new partnership unlocks even more brilliant content for
audiences who pay for quality journalism.
“The North & South content complements the extensive news, analysis, features and visual journalism of
The Post, The Press and the Waikato Times.
“Since we launched our digital mastheads just 16 months ago, we have seen the near doubling of audience reach for our dailies and the growth of The Post as a national politics, policy and business must-read. We are continuing to build new value for our subscribers every day.”
Stuff also publishes magazines NZ House & Garden, TV Guide and NZ Gardener as well as newspaper-inserted magazines Your Weekend and Sunday.
