A job opportunity to become the country’s first ever Luxury Bed Sheet Tester was just too good for Kiwis to pass up – with over 4,000 applying for the role.
Run by PR and social agency Darkhorse for the Briscoe Group, the Sleepiest Job Ever campaign offered the successful candidate $ 10,000 for “one night of sleep” as well as $ 3,000 worth of luxury bedding.
Lacey Taylor, from Kaukapakapa, was the successful candidate. Her job was simple – select the products, try them out at home and then review them, creating social media content to be used on the brand’s channels.
Starting back in May, the campaign focused on earned media channels to find New Zealand’s first ever Luxury Bed Sheet Tester, which aimed to highlight Briscoes’ Hotel At Home Manchester line. It received more than 28 pieces of media coverage.
“We loved kicking off a relationship with Darkhorse with this exciting campaign; it was
exciting to see the power of earned media as New Zealanders far and wide shared their bed
creds,” says Briscoe Group’s Isabel Campbell, General Manager – Customer.
“This campaign created mass buzz and awareness across broadcast, print, online, podcasts,
socials and more, all while highlighting Briscoes’ incredible Hotel at Home range.”
