VML New Zealand among Gerety 2024 winners

AUCKLAND, Today: The 2024 Gerety Awards saw seven Grand Prix awarded to standout campaigns like Runner 321, We Are Ayenda, The Square Meter, My Japan Railway, The 100th edition, and WoMen’s football.

This year, more than 200 judges from 47 countries awarded 7 Grand Prix, 24 Gold, 94 Silver, and 71 Bronze, with 198 entries making the shortlist. Juries celebrated in 15 locations worldwide.

The Grand Prix winners included:

  • Runner 321 for adidas by FCB Canada in the Work for Good CUT (Alternative).
  • We Are Ayenda for WhatsApp by CreativeX, Meta US in the Entertainment CUT (TV/Cinema).
  • The Square Meter for HORNBACH by HeimatTBWA\ Germany Berlin in the Craft CUT (Production Design).
  • The 100th edition for Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung by Scholz & Friends Berlin, winning 2 GPS in the Craft CUT (Photography) and Communication CUT (Print).
  • My Japan Railway for JR GROUP by Dentsu Inc. Japan in the Craft CUT (Art Direction).
  • WoMen’s football for Orange by Marcel Paris in the Communication CUT (Online Video).

VML New Zealand’s Blokequet for Yeastie Boys won BRONZE in the Experience Cut. Other regional winners included Bang Bang Studios with BRONZE in the Craft Cut for Porsche Pong, Saatchi & Saatchi with BRONZE in the Humour Cut for Toyota HiLux ‘In The Middle,’ and Howatson+Company’s I’m Dying Inside for Modibodi, which took home SILVER in both the Media and Craft Cuts.

The most awarded countries this year were Germany, the USA, the UK, and France. Jung von Matt Germany was named Global Agency of the Year, winning with campaigns like The first trademark that stops trading Nazi merch for Laut gegen Nazis, Merry Easter for Edeka, and Goals everywhere for adidas.

Rights against the Right – The first trademark that stops trading Nazi merch was the most awarded campaign, followed by The Square Meter for HORNBACH and A Holiday to Remember from Chevrolet. Top brands included WWF, the Tennessee Department of Tourist Development, McDonald’s, Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung, and Wisp x Abortion Freedom Fund.
