TRB expands into digital audio

AUCKLAND, Today: TRB has announced changes to strengthen its position in audio media planning across New Zealand. TRB will now represent the growing digital audio market and take on advocacy from the RBA.

Alistair Jamison has been appointed CEO to lead this evolution, transitioning from his current role as RBA Chief Executive. Peter Richardson, current TRB General Manager, will become Finance Manager.

Alistair said, “I’m thrilled to take on this expanded remit to grow audio as a channel. There’s such a wealth of great content out there, and we know Kiwis love listening to it. It’s our job to help agencies and advertisers better understand and access the commercial opportunities those audiences represent.”

Michael Boggs, CEO of NZME, highlighted the complexities of today’s media landscape. He said, “These changes will further strengthen advocacy not just for radio but also of digital audio as one of the fastest growing media platforms.

“We are excited at the prospect of TRB elevating the understanding of audio solutions and expanding the services it provides, in turn providing agencies and clients with improved business outcomes.”

MediaWorks CEO Wendy Palmer emphasised the natural alignment of advocacy under TRB. She stated, “The audio industry provides robust audiences and a huge range of options for advertisers.

“Al will do a fantastic job in leading the evolution of TRB, and the combination of Peter’s vast experience and Al’s knowledge of the needs of agencies and clients provide the perfect leadership mix for TRB to provide world-class audio solutions that reflect today’s audio market.”
