Celebrating New Zealand’s volunteer coaches with Thanks Coach campaign

AUCKLAND, Today: WorkComms has teamed up with Sport NZ and Coach For Life to launch a national campaign celebrating over 300,000 volunteer coaches who dedicate their time to young people across New Zealand.

At the heart of the campaign is a 15-second video showcasing everyday Kiwis in their work roles and as volunteer coaches. The call to action, “Say thanks to your coach for another great season at thankscoach.co.nz,” encourages people to send personal thank-you messages through a dedicated website.

These messages are shared directly with coaches and also appear on the campaign website and Sport NZ social media, raising awareness of the commitment these coaches make to shaping young athletes.

Thanks Coach marks our latest successful collaboration with Sport NZ,” said WorkComms’ Gaylene Anderson. “It’s always rewarding to work on a project that makes a positive impact on communities.

Sport NZ Brand and Marketing Manager Kate Thirkell highlighted the campaign’s significance. “Volunteer coaches do more than teach sports—they help develop our tamariki and rangatahi. We wanted to celebrate their contribution and inspire others to get involved.”

With support from Seven Sharp, the Thanks Coach campaign has received an overwhelming response, with thank-you messages pouring in since its launch last week.
