AUCKLAND, Today: Uber Eats has launched the latest instalment of the Get almost, almost anything campaign, featuring actor and comedian Jason Alexander. Titled Canned Laughter, the ad humorously highlights the chaos that comes from having everything at our fingertips.
After previous successful campaigns with Kris and Kendall Jenner, Tom Felton, and Nicola Coughlan, this campaign continues Uber Eats’ self-deprecating theme, admitting there are some things the app doesn’t deliver—shown through the comedic chaos that would follow if our wildest desires were available.
In the ad, Alexander’s character struggles to land a joke at a dinner party. Frustrated, he orders ‘canned laughter’ via Uber Eats, which initially solves his problem. However, things quickly spiral out of control when laughter turns up in situations where it’s not welcome, leading to hilarious consequences.
The campaign continues on social media, showcasing a variety of Uber Eats offerings—from groceries to retail and restaurant deliveries. “There’s always been a special part in my heart for comedy and the iconic tropes of television of yesteryear,” says Jason Alexander.

Uber ANZ Brand Lead, Channa Goonasekara, added, “This campaign wouldn’t have worked with anyone else. Jason’s comedic calamity is brilliantly nostalgic and a perfect continuation of our brand platform.”
Creative Director James Sexton remarked, “It’s been great working with Jason and Director Mark Molloy to bring this sitcom trope to life. Jason’s brand of misery is a fun nod to his fans.”
Creative Director Harry Neville-Towle commented, “Jason Alexander’s life being ruined by canned laughter feels like a great continuation of Uber Eats’ self-deprecating tone and shows why we don’t deliver everything.”
The campaign’s hero film premiered last weekend, with audio ads and social media content launching across multiple platforms. The ‘Get almost, almost anything’ platform has now expanded globally, reaching countries like Taiwan, Spain, and Mexico.
