Leading financial journalist Frances Cook has a new independent podcast: Making Cents.
She’s making it in partnership with Kiwibank, in a move to enhance Kiwi financial knowledge.
Kiwibank has partnered with Making Cents, which aims to simplify complex financial concepts, empowering Kiwis to take control of their financial future. It’s an ambition that aligns closely with Kiwibank’s purpose of Kiwi making Kiwi better off.
The new podcast follows Cook’s award-winning and critically acclaimed series “Cooking the Books.”
“Starting something new is always exciting and having the support of sponsors like Kiwibank
means a lot,” says Cook. “I can’t wait to launch Making Cents to the world. Money is about building the life that’s right for you, and more and more New Zealanders are looking for ways to make their money work for them, rather than the other way around.
“That’s what Making Cents is all about – helping Kiwi smash their financial goals and live the good life on the way.”
Supporting local
This collaboration reflects Kiwibank’s ongoing commitment to supporting local media and helping Kiwis make informed financial decisions.
Simon Hofmann, Kiwibank Brand and Marketing GM, says: “Supporting local media is not just about backing diverse storytelling in Aotearoa; it’s about ensuring those stories resonate with everyday Kiwi.
“That’s why we’re thrilled to partner with Frances to bring Making Cents to Kiwi audiences. The podcast weaves together real Kiwi experiences, shifts in financial mindsets, and expert advice to help listeners make confident, informed decisions about their finances that reflect a modern, progressive New Zealand.”
Making Cents launched on September 30 and will release episodes twice a week. On Mondays, listeners can tune in for in-depth interviews with inspiring people from Aotearoa. Thursdays’ episodes feature an “Ask the Experts” segment, where Kiwibank experts will join Cook to provide valuable insights.
