Leading marketing and communications agency, Bastion Shine is proud to announce the promotion of Oliver Green to the role of Chief Creative Officer.
The role focuses on broadening creative brand concepts beyond paid advertising, unlocking the potential of Bastion Shine’s integrated agency model.
The appointment followed an extensive multi-market search to identify the industry’s finest creative leader, with the agency ultimately selecting the ideal candidate from within its own team, a testament to Bastion Shine’s commitment to nurturing and recognising top-tier talent.
Green brings more than 25-years’ experience with globally renowned agencies, including Mojo, Colenso BBDO, BMF Sydney, Clemenger Melbourne, and London-based firms FCB, Lowe, and Naked. His career highlights include iconic, award-winning campaigns for brands such as Cadbury, Virgin Airlines, Stella Artois, Chevrolet, Danone, and HSBC. Beyond advertising, Green has made a mark in film and content creation as a director with production company Flying Fish, where he produced campaigns for brands including Hyundai, Vogel’s, and Anchor.
Since joining Bastion Shine, he has led standout campaigns for Whittaker’s, Spark, Vogel’s, and Air New Zealand, cementing his reputation as a visionary creative. His storytelling expertise are matched by his contributions to culture through filmmaking, music, writing, and his art-based magazine and content platform, Neverland.
“I’m deeply honoured to take on this role. Bastion Shine is home to an incredible pool of talent, and together, we’re poised to create groundbreaking ideas for some of the world’s best brands. I’m excited to continue building on the exceptional work that’s been done and to explore new creative frontiers,” says Green.
He steps into the role following the tenure of Rich Maddocks, who led Bastion Shine’s creative efforts with distinction before transitioning to semi-retirement to pursue a career as a novelist.
Bastion Shine CEO Toby Sellers praised Oliver’s appointment, saying, “Oli’s appointment as Chief Creative Officer marks an important step in the evolution of Bastion Shine. Following closely on the heels of our expansion into media and brand experience, Oli’s creative leadership will unlock even more connected ideas and platforms for clients, that build from brand foundations and exist throughout the world of the customer, from comms to owned channels, technology and experiences. I couldn’t be more excited about where Oli will take the creative thinking and ideas we deliver for the market leading businesses and brands we get to work with at Bastion Shine.”
Green will assume the role of Chief Creative Officer effective immediately, guiding the agency’s creative vision and client-driven initiatives into 2025 and beyond.
