Daylight has announced two key promotions within its creative ranks, as it continues to expand its craft and storytelling offerings.
Billy Baxter has been appointed as design director and Renee Jacobi steps into an animation director role.
“We’re so excited about these new promotions. Over the last two years, we’ve grown and shaped the business significantly, and these two have been instrumental in our success. Billy and Renee are not only exceptional in their chosen disciplines, but are super tapped into design, illustration and animation culture, making them incredibly inspiring to work alongside. I’m so excited for the new era of Daylight, with Bill and Ren leading the charge,” says Creative Director Charlie Godinet.
Both bringing over 15 years’ experience in the creative industries, plus a wealth of international experience across the UK, European and Australian markets, the duo have made an indelible mark on the studio with their work so far.
“I’m really proud to be part of this talented team that’s achieved such remarkable success in such a short space of time,” says Baxter. “Not only that, but I’m excited to help take Daylight’s craft capabilities to new heights, pushing the boundaries of modern storytelling and creating design that makes you swoon.”
“Growing Daylight’s animation department from scratch has been a really rewarding challenge. Being able to take a vision of what it could be with all the amazing in- house talent we have and building out its capabilities has opened up some really cool opportunities — I’m really looking forward to seeing where we can take it,” says Jacobi.
These two key promotions reflect a greater kaupapa within Daylight, championing female creativity and innovative storytelling both here in Aotearoa and beyond.
