With the goal of championing the Chatham Islands as a ‘top of bucket list’ destination, with the help of Moonshots Ltd, Air Chathams has launched a new campaign, shifting its focus from brand awareness to the enchanting allure of the islands.
Through strong and distinct story-telling the TVC showcases both the unique package that is the Chatham Islands and Air Chathams link to the archipelago.
To showcase the essence of Air Chathams’ heritage, the airline embraced the opportunity to elevate its storytelling, by capturing both the harsh, unique beauty of the surrounding landscape, whilst paying tribute to the airlines small part within the rich cultural and natural tapestry of the Chatham Islands.
To pay tribute to the landscape, the campaign is narrated in the first-person within these TVC ads, personifying the island through the eyes and voice of a young Polynesian woman dressed in stark orange, symbolic of bravery, sunrise and sundown in many Pacifica cultures.
The narrator is the actress within the TVCs and the simple verses speak to this ancient, nature-forged place at ‘earths end’ – whilst letting the Jurassic-like cinematography speak for itself in volumes. The Chatham Islands maybe at the edge of the world, but to Air Chathams it is the thriving centre of all we value.
The campaign includes 30’ and 60’ TVCs (as part of a larger multi-media campaign) through SKY TV, Sky Sports, Sky Sports Now, SkyGo, TV One On demand – outdoors package and Youtube stings.
