New figures from Nielsen’s August online ratings show that NZ Herald.co.nz is now New Zealand’s most popular digital news provider.
Figures have shown monthly unique numbers for the NZ Heralds online portal hit 1,838,000 for the month of August 2020.
NZ Herald News editor Murray Kirkness says the team are humbled at their most recent success and engagement from Kiwi audiences.
“Our local news teams continually strive to earn that trust. That so many New Zealanders are choosing nzherald.co.nz at a time when reliable, accurate and trustworthy information is so valued is incredibly rewarding.
Alongside this new accolade, readership of the New Zealand Herald for the 12 months to June 30 jumped 16 per cent year on year, to 546,000 daily readers.
NZME’s CEO Michael Boggs said nzherald.co.nz audiences, the continued growth in NZ Herald Premium digital news subscriptions and the record number of New Zealanders who’re reading NZME’s newspapers, all highlight the value Kiwis place in trusted, independent and local news teams.
