New Zealand’s most iconic fashion and lifestyle title, Fashion Quarterly, will be reigniting its 40-year run when it returns from hiatus in December.
Snapped up by Auckland-based independent publisher Parkside Media following the closure of Bauer, Fashion Quarterly will be led by editor Nicole Saunders, who has spent the last five years as style and beauty editor for monthly title MiNDFOOD, and headed the quarterly STYLE magazine.
Saunders says the opportunity to take the reigns of such a renowned title was one she couldn’t refuse.
“FQ has been captivating Kiwi audiences for 40 years. It’s an incredibly powerful brand and it remains a trusted source of inspiration for New Zealand women leading stylish lives. I’m incredibly excited to unlock the potential of this cherished title and forge a new integrated direction with a publisher and team whose ambition for the brand equals my own.”
Saunders will be joined by creative director, Courtney Joe. For the past three years Joe has co-led New Zealand’s leading fashion showroom and PR agency, Showroom 22, as the creative PR director. Joe brings a wealth of experience in branding, content creation and production having worked with leading local and international brands including Aesop, Deadly Ponies, Kowtow, Levi’s and R.M. Williams.
Genevieve Ali will head up the commercial division as commercial director. Ali brings with her an in-depth knowledge of the Fashion Quarterly brands, having worked as the commercial brand manager of Fashion Quarterly, FQ.co.nz, MissFQ.co.nz, Beautyheaven.co.nz and special projects since 2016.
Assisting Ali will be Catherine Ribiere, who brings extensive experience working with luxury brands across New Zealand media.
Fashion Quarterly will continue publishing through the quarterly magazine, FQ.co.nz, MissFQ, and the full suite of social channels.
The next issue will be on sale in December.
