Last week Special Group was named New Zealand Agency of the Year at the B&T Awards in Sydney.
The Awards Night on November 20 saw the New Zealand agency also take home the tiles of Advertising Agency of the Year and jointly with their Sydney office, Branding and Design Agency of the Year and the overall B&T Agency of the Year.
The B&T awards are Australia’s premier and longest-running award show – and also one of the toughest to win. Every finalist agency has to do a 25 minute live presentation and Q&A to around 10 of Australia’s leading CMO’s. Each agency entry has to cover creative performance, business performance, culture, innovation and staff development.
In a dominant night for the creative company, which has just opened Melbourne and Los Angeles offices, the Australia office also took home Independent Agency of the Year and Campaign of the Year for Uber Eats -Tonight I’ll be Eating. And Tourism New Zealand’s multi-award winning ‘Good Morning World’ won another title, this time Digital Campaign of the Year.
Two of the partners from the agency here in New Zealand have spoken about what the success means to them.
“To be named the best Agency in both New Zealand and Australia is an incredible thing. In the toughest of years we’ve had our best year,” says founder CEO/CCO Tony Bradbourne.
The results mean Special Group simultaneously hold ‘Campaign of the Year’ titles at every major Australian industry award show – Mumbrella, AdNews & B&T – as well as Best in Show at Award.
“Everyone at Special New Zealand and Australia have worked non-stop this year through lockdowns, quarantines, and constant change. These awards are for every single talented one of them, who have gone above and beyond to create the region’s best work.”
“Special being recognised as the leading agency on both sides of the Tasman is everything we’ve been working towards. It’s a huge achievement for our people in both New Zealand and Australia, and testament to the ambition of our clients,” says Managing Partner Michael Redwood
