AUCKLAND, Thursday: FCB NZ has been appointed as the creative agency for several Heinz Wattie’s brands after a competitive pitch. The incumbent – for at least part of the portfolio – was thought to be VMLY&R (and before that, Y&R).
The result comes a few months after another pitch win where FCB NZ were appointed as the creative agency responsible for the Australasian launch of Heinz Wattie’s new Devour brand.
The Heinz Wattie’s brands now under FCB’s roof, including the Wattie’s portfolio, Devour, Just Smash, Mediterranean and Chef.
Heinz Wattie’s Sherri Zhou, who’s based in Auckland, said: “The FCB team demonstrated an impressive collaborative approach throughout the process.
“This is an absolute career highlight – we’re cracking a can of spaghetti to celebrate.”
“That gave us the strong confidence and chemistry needed not only for the pitch decision but also for the coming years’ partnership.”
Despite requests, she did not identify the incumbent.
FCB MD Toby Sellers said: “We are excited to be working with a dynamic global food business with such a strong local legacy, and an incredible stable of famous brands.”
ECDs Leisa Wall & Peter Vegas said: “This is an absolute career highlight winning Wattie’s, we’re cracking a can of spaghetti to celebrate.”
FCB and Heinz Wattie’s will begin their partnership immediately.
