Special Group Australia as beaten out CHE Proximity, Hero and existing account holders TBWAMelbourne in a pitch for the ANZ creative account in that country.
This after the account went under review in June 2020.
As previously reported on StopPress, Special Group Australia was said to be a front runner to win the account. It was also suggested that the awarding of the Australia account may impact the local New Zealand account.
The latter, however, according to a Special source is not the case. The source tells StopPress that the ANZ account in Australia will be worked on exclusively by the Special team in Australia and that there would be no sharing of resources with the New Zealand-based team.
TBWANZ will retain the bank’s New Zealand-based creative account.
The news comes after TBWANZ and ANZ launched the new, and emotionally-charged brand platform, ‘We Do How’, to give Kiwis the practical know-how to start their financial wellbeing journey.
