Justin Mowday and Damon Stapleton to depart DDB

Hey, it’s me Shady Lowdown with another big scoop for StopPress. News on the street, Great North Road to be exact, is that Justin Mowday, Group CEO and Damon Stapleton, Regional Chief Creative Officer are rumoured to be departing DDB.

Justin Mowday.

My sources tell me that an official announcement is to be made tomorrow, but that both staff and clients have been informed of the imminent departures.

StopPress has reached out to Mowday for comment, but he is yet to respond.

No news on when or where the two are off to, perhaps they are starting their own agency? As if there aren’t enough new indies on the block? Anyway, we’ll just have to wait for the official announcement.

Mowday stepped up to lead the whole New Zealand Group business in July of last year, while Stapleton who was previously the agency’s Chief Creative Officer moved into his current role in July 2019.

A short update from me today – but one that is sure to get tongues wagging.

Keep an eye out on StopPress for more details coming soon.
