AUCKLAND, Today: As a long standing partner and supporter of Youthline, oOh!media has signed up the oOh! team for Walk the Talk and challenged their own clients to get on board.
oOh!media NZ GM Nick Vile explains: “31 minutes is the average time Youthline’s online helpline counsellors spend with each young person in crisis.
“For the month of May, Youthline encouraged New Zealanders to Walk the Talk for 31 minutes every day, to encourage financial support for young people struggling with their mental health.
“oOh! also enlisted fitness brands Studio Box, F45 and Sweat Pilates to support the quest for exercise minutes.
“oOh! organised a series of afternoon classes during the work day in May for its team and clients to get active. Rather than paying for the classes, oOh! asked participants to donate to the oOh! Walk the Talk donation page.
“It’s only through support of amazing partners like oOh! that we are able to be there for young people when they need help most.”
“Thanks for the efforts of the oOh! team and supportive clients, those involved manage to exercise for an average of 679 minutes (11.3 hours) per day and raise upwards of $ 3000.
“I’m always proud to see the team get behind our long-standing New Zealand community partners in new and engaging ways.
“When Youthline came to us with Walk the Talk, the team jumped on board to support it. It wasn’t long before ideas started flowing about how we could activate the program and I’m proud of the team for the energy and enthusiasm they brought to supporting NZ youth.”
Elizabeth Maddison, business development manager at Youthline said: “We are grateful for oOh!’s support. It was fantastic to see the way that the whole oOh!media team got behind the campaign to support young people with their mental health.
“Every year, thousands of young people turn to Youthline for support during some of their toughest moments. It’s only through the support of amazing partners like oOh!media that we are able to continue to be there for young people when they need it most.
