New Zealand Media and Entertainment has signalled moves to accelerate the growth of its OneRoof property and real estate presence in Northland.
NZME’s current General Manager for Northland, Greg Alexander, will move to head the newly established role of Head of OneRoof and Publishing, Northland.
NZME CEO Michael Boggs says: “OneRoof is a strategic pillar for NZME’s growth. Northland is one of the key areas where we have identified a great opportunity to expand the support for OneRoof’s commercial partners and our relationships with the real estate industry.”
In his new role, Alexander will also be responsible for driving NZME print revenue growth across Northland, including through NZME’s Northland Age and Northern Advocate publications.
With Alexander moving to this new role, NZME has appointed Mereana Hawthorn as its Northland General Sales Manager.
Currently based in Auckland with seek.co.nz as New Zealand Sales Manager for Recruitment Agencies and SME Business, Hawthorn previously had 18 successful years in the media industry, 10 of those which were based in Northland.
NZME Regional Head of Sales, Greg Turley says: “Mereana carried her award-winning and incredibly commercially successful radio career into the recruitment industry where she has again excelled.
“While Mereana’s been living in Auckland for a few years she’s kept closely connected with her family and community in Northland, still hosts the annual Northland Sports Awards in Whangarei and is very happy to be heading home to be closer to her Northland whanau.”
Alexander and Hawthorn both officially start their roles on 2 August.
