After almost a year in the making, Queenstown creative production house Shotover Media has expanded into the creative agency market.
The move rounds out the agency’s capabilities with a strategy-led creative and communications service model, centred on building enduring brand equity for its clients.
Established in 2013, Shotover Media is a recognised video production house with firm footholds in the southern region’s film production industry.
Following a year of dynamic growth, Shotover Media seized an opportunity to create greater synergy between visual assets and long-term brand communications.
Shotover Media Founder and Managing Director, James Perry says: “We saw a more effective way to provide increased value to our clients, by reinforcing our production process with a strategic approach ingrained in brand discovery and developing material that builds emotional equity over the long run.”
To take on this new model of work, Shotover Media have expanded the team with two new hires: Kristen Smith, a skilled PR and Communications professional with over 10 years of agency experience across New Zealand and Australia, and former Isobar Art Director Georgia Wales.
Co-Founder and Director Pete Whittaker says: “Our roots have always been in story-driven production for our clients, but with our latest talent acquisitions, we have taken our capabilities to the next level with fully integrated campaigns, PR & communications, design, and production.”
Evidence of this can be seen in the agency’s latest works for Destination Fiordland, where they won a competitive pitch process to develop and produce the tourism brand’s latest creative campaign ‘Beyond Belief’; Stride Property’s Remarkables Park Town Centre, which sees a year-long partnership between the two to re-imagine the brand’s digital presence, communications and content after a highly successful Christmas 2020 campaign; and Staysouth with the currently live Great Stories campaign.
