Luke Farmer exits dentsu

AUCKLAND, Tuesday: dentsu NZ general manager Luke Farmer is to leave the agency he joined – when it was Barnes Catmur & Friends – as managing partner in 2012.

Farmer said: “September will be my last month at dentsu New Zealand, bringing an end to a huge, brilliant part of my career.

“In 2012 I was brought on by Daniel Barnes and Paul Catmur to Barnes Catmur and Friends to help shape this small indie agency.

“Since then I’ve had the privilege to help grow the business and build its reputation as a top independent agency with a #1 in APAC and #3 in the world, on the APAC Effie Awards rankings.

“It’s with a heavy heart I leave friends, colleagues, clients and a business that myself and an amazing team of good folk helped build.”

“Off the back of this success we were acquired by dentsu in 2016, becoming BC&F Dentsu, then earlier this year changing to dentsu.

“It was at this point I felt like a new challenge was required. So, it’s with a heavy heart I leave friends, colleagues, clients and a business that myself and an amazing team of good folk helped build.

“Whilst we grew in size we still made a heap of meaningful, distinctive work all while having a bunch of solid times together.

“I wish the team at dentsu all the best and are excited to see the business succeed long into the future.”

What now?
Farmer posted his news via social media – but gave no indication as to his next career step.
