MediaWorks has acquired the remaining stake in Digital Commons becoming its outright owner.
The company has held a majority stake in the digital marketing agency, with it now acquiring the final 26 percent.
The move will see Digital Commons Managing Partner Lisa Ison take on the role of Head of Digital Partnerships at MediaWorks where she will lead the company’s digital audio commercial strategy.
Lisa Ison says it’s exciting to see Digital Commons enter this new chapter.
“Given the success of Digital Commons over the past couple of years, Digital Commons will now capitalise on the additional sales and marketing resources the MediaWorks acquisition will bring.
“From a commercial perspective, digital audio opens up new and exciting opportunities for advertisers to engage with audiences and I look forward to working closely with MediaWorks’ rova team on sponsorship and advertising solutions for customers.
“Digital Commons has a number of exclusive partnerships with brands and products, including Air New Zealand, AdColony and Mirrors by Silverpush. The acquisition means we’ll be able to offer these publishers a larger sales team as we continue to drive their products and sell them into the market.”
MediaWorks Commercial Director Liz Fraser says a key focus for MediaWorks in 2022 is growing its digital audio business.
“We believe there’s significant opportunity and value to be created in the digital audio space so it’s great to have someone with Lisa’s digital expertise dedicated to untapping this further for us.”
