AUCKLAND, Today: The catchy bilingual waiata created by Gisborne musician Rob Ruha for Z’s Moving with the Times brand platform from Saatchi & Saatchi, has reached No 1 in the NZ music chart.
Saatchi & Saatchi CCO Steve Cochran said: “Written to capture the spirit of road trips, optimism for the future and where we are all headed as a nation, Rob Ruha was inspired to write the piece by the kaupapa, spirit and progressive intention of the project.
“It’s extremely rare for a commissioned music track made purposely for an advertising campaign to make the pop charts, so having a number one is something of a feat for the brand.
“We all felt we were listening to a new New Zealand hit song the first time we heard it.”
“We all felt we were listening to a new New Zealand hit song the first time we heard it.
“So of course, we’re stoked to see that coming to fruition. And we’re certainly delighted for Rob and his crew. It’s hugely satisfying to see their passion and mahi paying off.”
The waiata can be heard accompanying Z advertising on TV, VOD and on radio, however since its release two weeks ago as a full-length song via IndiNation and Universal Music, It has also become a feature on radio playlists, sitting at the top of the Hot NZ Single list for the last two weeks.
