Joining the small but mighty stable of photography, production, cinematography and directing talent at IDC is international photographer Guy Coombes.
IDC Agent Michele Richards-Berry says this is an exciting time at IDC and the team are “stoked” to have him on board.
“Guy’s an outstanding photographer, known for his timelessly elegant images and his strong eye for style.
“IDC Worldwide is all about being by New Zealand, for the world. And that’s what we see in Guy as well – he’s a New Zealand photographer who’s gone out and become global, and then, luckily for us, he’s brought that knowledge and experience home.”
Coombes’ global career has seen him commissioned to shoot in Australia, China, Singapore, Europe, and the United States, as well as spending two years working in production and managing Big Sky Studios, one of London’s largest creative hubs.
Previously he has worked alongside some of the industry’s giants, including David Sims, Mert & Marcus, Tim Walker, & Craig McDean, and for productions including Chanel, Burberry, Saint Laurent, Vogue Paris and Gucci.
He says working with IDC was something that happened “organically”.
“I have had a break from working with agents over the past couple of years and it felt right to get back into those waters with someone who understands where I’m at with my work and where I need to go. Michele’s long-standing wealth of knowledge in the photographic industry, straightforward and honest approach made me immediately feel in good hands.”
Coombes brings a wealth of expertise to IDC, including shoots for high profile subjects like Jacinda Ardern and Lily Allen.
With a background in shooting fashion and portrait which has recently translated into advertising, his ‘strong eye for style’ has translated into shooting for campaigns for the likes of BNZ, MAC Cosmetics and the Royal New Zealand Ballet, Les Mills, Mercedes, and Westfield.
