TVNZ is celebrating a substantial haul at the recent Promax ANZ Awards in Sydney – bringing home 12 gold and five silver awards.
TVNZ Blacksand won three gold awards for TVNZ+, including Video Entertainment Brand of the Year 2022, as well as Best Branding Design and Best Original Logo Design.
TVNZ Blacksand also took the gold for Best Public Service Announcement/ Community Spot for New Zealand’s first full ad break with New Zealand Sign Language.
The team took a further five golds for Lego Masters, including Best Use of Original Music, Best Integrated Marketing Campaign for a Programme/ Channel/ Platform, Best Use of Design In-Video, Best CG Animation and Best Visual FX and Compositing.
An additional three golds were awarded for work related to Shortland Street. As well as Best Drama Promo and Best Integrated TVC, the team took gold for Best Brand Funded Content Partner Integration.
This special three-minute ad break involved working with nine commercial partners to create a bespoke piece of content for the Shortland Street 30th Birthday Celebration. The 30th Birthday also saw TVNZ Blacksand pick up a silver for Best Special Event.

“The Promax ANZ Awards celebrate brand-defining campaigns that engage viewers across whichever screen they choose to consume content on.
“To see TVNZ, TVNZ+, iconic TVNZ titles, and commercial-led partnerships so heavily honoured at these awards is a testament to the hard work and talent of the people we are lucky enough to call our colleagues.”
Other TVNZ projects and teams that were honoured include the TVNZ Blacksand team, taking silver for Creative Team of the Year, and a silver for Partners Sponsorship Campaign, for the Steve Carrell and the Minions Infiltrate TVNZ 2 spot.
Promax is a global association for the entertainment marketing industry. Creators, marketers and distributors of media content are represented by the association. With awards held in 11 regional and global competitions, the Promax ANZ Awards recognise outstanding achievement in entertainment marketing and design in Australia and New Zealand.
