Deloitte Digital Creative has appointed Priyanka Patel as Programme Director as the creative practice enters the next phase of its mission to re-establish the powerful role of creativity.
Patel kicked off her career at The Monkeys Sydney working on an innovative combination of communication and digital platforms for iconic brands like Telstra and IKEA Australia before moving to The Royals where she led a broad spectrum of creative accounts including Charles Darwin University, Afterpay and Campari Group.
Called home to New Zealand by the pandemic, she landed a role at Special Auckland where she was at the reigns of iconic accounts and pieces of work like the highly awarded David’s Unusables for Motor Neurone Disease, one of New Zealand’s biggest brand transformations in recent years for Kiwibank, and the Effie winning ‘It’s Good to be Home’ for Contact.
Deloitte Digital Creative, New Zealand Managing Director, Ahmad Salim says: “It’s so exciting to be a year into our journey and attracting talent like Pri. She’s one of those rare people with loads of experience and still excited by ideas and taking on the creative challenges that others would shy away from.”
With years of recognisable and award-winning work under her belt for a range of work covering digital innovation, creative strategy and a breadth of communications and design projects, Patel brings another dimension of creativity to the already diverse and unconventionally structured team at Deloitte Creative.
Deloitte Digital Creative, Chief Creative Officer NZ & Sydney, Dan Wright says: “It’s a privilege and a huge responsibility having such a star of the creative industry join us on our mission. Priyanka is a kindred spirit in her commitment to imagining and producing better answers to bigger problems, and she will absolutely supercharge our ability to do that.”
Patel says she would by lying if she said she wasn’t nervous about leaving the comforts of ‘ad-land’ but the nerves are outweighed by how excited she is to be working alongside an exceptional team and disrupting the market.
“This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to use the power of creativity and combine it with Deloitte’s capabilities to create real-life solutions to some of New Zealand’s greatest challenges – that will hopefully live on longer than me.”
Deloitte Digital Creative’s now maturing practice is made up of a highly diverse and experienced team of creative problem solvers that bring a new approach to creative strategy and execution to the market. The team help to integrate world class creative capabilities into the might of Deloitte’s other offerings in New Zealand and Australia.
Deloitte Digital Creative’s reputation as a creative, technology and marketing consultancy continues to grow with the brand achieving a leadership position in the recent Gartner Global Marketing Magic Quadrant winning Consultancy of the Year from Campaign Asia and winning Campaign Brief’s Asia Pacific Agency of the Year for 2022.
In 2023 the consultancy will be scaling up the role of creative thinking into every aspect of the business, and driving a world-first, world-class agenda through its ‘Hello New’ brand positioning.
