Starting 2023 on a high, Special has been crowned Independent Agency of the Year at the One Asia Creative Awards.
Special was awarded two prestigious ‘Best of Discipline’ awards – in Creative Effectiveness and Public Service & CSR – as well as five Golds, two Silvers, two Bronzes and a Merit for the multi-awarded ‘David’s Unusables’ campaign for Motor Neurone Disease NZ. A Bronze was awarded for Education New Zealand ‘Te Kākaku Hou’ in Design, and Kathmandu’s ‘Made For Out There’ received a Merit for Innovation.
Special’s creative performance saw Jonathan McMahon and Lisa Fedyszyn named as ‘Executive Creative Directors of the Year’, Arnya Karaitiana was named ‘Creative Director of the Year’ and Kimberley Scott was named ‘Art Director of Year’.
Proud of the agency’s achievements, Special’s Founder Tony Bradbourne says: “Winning ‘Independent Agency of the Year’ is a great way to start the year, and well deserved individual recognition for Lisa and Jono, Arnya and Kim for all of their hard work in 2022.
“We’ve got ambitious plans for 2023 for the brands and clients we work with and results like this give us even more drive and enthusiasm for the year ahead.”
