With the aim of making Steinlager Ultra Low Carb beer Aotearoa’s beer of choice this summer, Mango Communications and Lion took it on the road with a side of Fish ‘n Chips.
The Steinlager Ultra Low Carb Beer Battered Fish ‘n Chippery reimagines the traditional Kiwi dish with ultra low carb beer-battered fish and chips, served with cold Steinlager Ultra Low Carb. From December to March, the trailer and matching Landrover Defender appeared at several hotspots across the country, providing hot cones of fish and chips with cans of cold beer.
After launching in Auckland, the Fish & Chippery set off on a nationwide tour, making its way right down to Queenstown. Along the way, it popped up iconic events such as Rhythm and Vines and classic holiday spots like Mount Maunganui and Mangawhai.
“The Steinlager Ultra Low Carb Fish & Chippery allowed us to launch our newest drop in a unique, creative, and distinctly Kiwi way,” says Steinlager Brand Manager Lauren Dyke. “Despite less-than-ideal summer weather, our Fish & Chippery set the tone for Kiwis on how best to enjoy Steinlager Ultra Low Carb, and it was extremely well-received wherever it went.
“We were genuinely impressed with how Mango stepped up to bring our vision for Steinlager Ultra Low Carb to life,” she says.
The Steinlager Ultra Low Carb campaign also involved an epic launch event featuring Dick Johnson, Daily J and Sin Howard, plus another five additional Steinlager Summer Sessions in Auckland, Mount Maunganui, Wellington, Christchurch and Queenstown.
Brianna Elder, Mango Communications Aotearoa Experiential Director and Managing Partner, says: “We wanted Kiwis to experience Steinlager Ultra Low Carb in the way it should be enjoyed – ice cold, in the sun, and preferably with something delicious on the side. The fish and chip concept encapsulates everything that we love about a typical Kiwi summer, and allowed us to trial Steinlager Ultra Low Carb with thousands of Kiwis in a format they’re familiar with.”
