Top NZ marketers gather for first Advanced Marketing Leadership Programme

The NZ Marketing Association has launched its first ever ‘Advanced Marketing Leadership Programme’ which will see some of New Zealand’s top senior marketers get together for a three-month programme of workshops (32 sessions), mentoring, and inspiration preparing them to become the next CMOs.

“We saw a gap in the market and a real need for an aspirational programme for marketers who are in line to become New Zealand’s next generation of marketing leaders,” John Miles, CEO of the Marketing Association, says.

“So, we put together an advisory panel of CMOs, debated the content, and have ended up with arguably the best marketing leadership programme ever to have been offered in New Zealand.”

The programme facilitators and the 29 prominent mentors are a real who’s who of New Zealand business and marketing leaders, and include the likes of Theresa Gattung, Director, CEO and Co-Founder of My Food Bag, Sarah Sandoval, 2022 TVNZ-NZ Marketer of the Year, Shane Evans, 2021 TVNZ-NZ Marketer of the Year, Hone Paul, Director of Marketing at University of Otago plus CMOs from Foodstuffs, Lotto NZ, Westpac, Fonterra, Auckland Transport, Countdown, ANZ, Frucor Suntory, Trustpower, Southern Cross and more. These workshops and presentations are supplemented by five international experts streaming in to share their expertise.

The first cohort of future marketing leaders will be taken through a programme that includes workshops on stakeholder management, how to present to the C-suite and Boards, building culturally relevant brands, digital disruption, strategy, leadership, critical thinking and more.

Participants will be awarded a Professional Certification in Advanced Marketing Leadership at the end of the programme. The first workshop kicked off 27 April 2023.
