AUCKLAND, Thursday: All the usual suspects – NewstalkZB, Breeze, More FM, Hauraki, The Hits, Mai, The Sound, Coast, The Rock, The Edge, ZM, Magic, George, and Flava – have recorded respectable numbers in the S1 2023 GfK Radio Audience Data, released into the market today.
The results show 3.39 million people or 74% of New Zealanders aged 10+ listen to commercial radio each week.
Listeners tune in for an average of 15 hours 26 minutes each week.
“Radio’s key metrics exceed TV’s.”
TRB GM Peter Richardson said: “With both of these key metrics exceeding TV’s, and adding in the depth of radio’s engaged audience, radio remains a powerful option for clients looking to get their message heard.
“Today’s results demonstrate the continued importance of radio in the day-to-day lives of Kiwis.
“In these tough economic times, radio remains an affordable option for advertisers’ national campaigns, delivering strong reach in a cost-efficient manner.”
