AUCKLAND, Today: NSPR has hired former Today FM producer Tom McKenzie and experienced talent manager Josie Rainer.
NSPR acting MD Rebecca Reid said: “The NSPR team knew with Tom’s background in radio production, talent management, and content generation he would bring a unique and valuable skill set to the communications/PR landscape.
“Tom was one of our favourite producers to work with during his time at Today FM. He was super-efficient, ideas and solution orientated with a nose for news, which is a skillset we knew was transferable to the public relations and talent management work we do.”
Having previously served as executive producer for The Edge breakfast show, hosting a nationwide drive show on More FM, and working on London’s No 1 breakfast show at Capital FM, McKenzie says he’s eager to transition into the field of communications.
“Tom was one of our favourite producers to work with during his time at Today FM.”
“I am thrilled to be joining the NSPR team,” he says. “I admire the talented team and the values they uphold.”
Rebecca Reid: “Tom felt we were the right place to kick off his communications career and Josie liked the NSPR style long before she joined the team – it’s a win-win for all.”
Rainer, of Te Ati Awa decent, comes from a varied background in corporate communications and project management and is managing the talent across the NSPR stable while Kate Grant is on maternity leave.
“Josie is an organisational star that has our talent side of the business humming,” Reid says. “She is creative, and connections focused while getting the job done and thinking five steps ahead for our talent.”
