The Commercial Communications Council (Comms Council) has announced industry veteran Josh Moore as the Convenor for the 2024 Axis Awards.
With a background in creative leadership, Moore is currently the Chief Creative Officer and Co-Founder of Pitchblack Partners, an independent New Zealand-owned agency that collaborates with prestigious clients such as Burger King, Vocus, Sanitarium, Griffins, VTNZ, Air New Zealand, and TAB, among others.
Prior to his role at Pitchblack Partners, he held the position of Regional Chief Creative Officer for Y&R NZ, overseeing operations in both New Zealand and Australia, and also served as the CEO of Y&R NZ. Under his creative direction, Y&R NZ achieved unprecedented success, securing the Agency of the Year title at D&AD and clinching the Black and Gold pencil, marking a historic milestone for New Zealand.
Known for his creative prowess, Moore has been recognised with numerous accolades throughout his career, including seven Yellow Pencils, two Grand Prix at Cannes, one Titanium award, the Cannes Black Lion for Effectiveness, the North American Grand Effie for Effectiveness, and multiple Gold awards at Cannes, Axis, Award, The One Show, Clio, LIA, NYF, and Spikes.
What sets Moore apart is his unique perspective, gained from being both a CEO and a CCO. This rare combination enables him to blend creative innovation with strategic accountability seamlessly, making him an exceptional choice to preside over the Axis Awards.
