Special has racked up another award-winning evening, receiving a historic five “Agency of the Year” titles at the Campaign Asia Agency of the Year awards dinner in Singapore.
The New Zealand-founded agency saw an impressive run across the board, including:
- New Zealand Creative Agency of the Year
- Australian Creative Agency of the Year
- Integrated Agency of the Year
- Independent Agency of the Year
Special PR – which was founded in April 2021 to offer PR, influence, and activation services – also took out “PR Agency of the Year”.
The clean sweep of Agency of the Year titles for Special caps off a remarkable year which has seen the agency win the same accolade at every major rival award show – this year it has also been named ‘B&T Agency of the Year’, ‘Campaign Brief New Zealand Agency of the Year’, ‘New Zealand Effie’s Agency of the Year’ and ‘PRINZ PR Agency of the Year.’
In addition, the agency has also claimed the 2023 Grand Prix at Cannes, the 2023 Grand Prix at AXIS, and the 2023 Grand Prix at New Zealand Effies.
Tony Bradbourne, Special’s founder, commented: “To win any of these awards once is incredible, but to win five ‘Agency of the Year’ titles in one award show, along with the same title at the other major shows is great recognition for everyone’s hard work and brilliant creative thinking.”
“Whether we are talking about Grand Prix at Cannes for our work with Partners Life, or the Grand Prix at Effies for our work with Kiwibank, our team have had a truly exceptional year and fired on all cylinders. I couldn’t be prouder of them, and I couldn’t be more thankful for our client partners who strive to do the most ambitious and effective work every day.”
Kelly Grindle, GM of Special PR, was in attendance at the awards show in Singapore to represent the wider agency network.
“There was no doubt that night was truly ‘special’,” said Grindle. “Two and a half years ago we started Special PR with no clients, no leads, and no systems – and to think we’re now on stage accepting the award for Campaign Asia’s PR Agency of the Year is absolutely mind-blowing.”
“This is testament to every single team member, freelancer, client, partner or friend who has helped build our PR agency from an idea to a reality. It’s certainly the best way to cap an impressive 2023 for the Special network.”
