Warner Bros. Discovery has launched a new investment-themed vodcast series in partnership with fund manager Millford, hosted by comedian Eli Matthewson.
The six-part series follows Matthewson’s journey from novice to confident investor, talking to Milford investment specialists along the way.
The series was filmed in Warner Bros. Discovery’s brand new, Newshub Augmented Reality studio. WBD NZ is the first TV studio in New Zealand to have a multi camera AR and VR system, allowing real-time tracking of 3D scenes that move with the camera creating realistic immersive environments.
The six 20 min episodes of LMAO will be dropped over the next two weeks on both newshub.co.nz and the Newshub YouTube channel, with made-for social content edits, distributed across the Newshub & Milford-owned social channels.
Kerry Leonard, Senior Manager, Knack Partnerships & Creative says “We talk about the power of partnerships as being one that drives best outcomes for publishers, clients and viewers. LMAO is the absolute perfect example of this – right from day one, collaborating with Milford just worked seamlessly. We quickly nailed down a shared vision: the desire to do something fun and creative, with a commitment to pushing boundaries for both organisations.
“It was made all the more easier by having our new, cutting-edge augmented reality studio. This tech gives us an actual dynamic set. Which means it can be changed and moulded in completely bespoke ways depending on the content we’re creating.”
“We are really excited to deliver something that we think is a world-class viewing experience in partnership with Milford. This is the sort of stuff that sets a new standard in engaging content and we look forward to where we can take this partnership in the future.”
Sarah Norrie, Senior Manager, Strategy and Content at Milford says:
“At Milford, nothing excites us more than the opportunity to do things differently and break new ground. This project with Warner Bros. Discovery in the new AR studio was all that and more. From the creative concepting, through to the exceptional new AR studio facility, to the Producer and Warner Bros. Discovery team, our talent, and Eli – we are absolutely delighted with the six-part Investment series we have created together.
“Every aspect of the production process has been flawless and the AR studio facility has enabled us to create a very cool visual aesthetic on brand and tone for our target market. This is groundbreaking collaborative brand championing at its best and we are excited to do more bespoke productions like this in the future.”
