AUCKLAND, Yesterday: Louise Kellerman, who started Design Assembly 15 years ago to unite, educate, and inspire graphic and visual designers, is excited to introduce a new event this March for women designers and those identifying as female, posing the question.
How have your background, life experiences and values shaped your design practice to live a life in design?
When Louise founded Design Assembly in 2009, she was a young female designer seeking a sense of community. She never imagined that the organisation would fulfil her mission of fostering connections between individuals and ideas in such a supportive and uplifting environment.
‘Women in Design Day | Design & You 2024’ takes Louise back to her beginnings, celebrating those in the design community who mean the most to her.
This special event is set for Friday, 22 March 2024, in the scenic Bracu Estate in Bombay Hills, just south of Auckland. It will feature four distinguished female designers from various sectors, who will share their career stories and insights.
“I’m so excited for DA Women In Design DAY. This event is a full circle moment for me – dedicated to my 21-year-old female design graduate self.” – Louise Kellerman
Attendees can look forward to engaging in hands-on design activities, exploring a curated selection of top design books provided by Beatnik Publishing, indulging in delicious food, and unwinding amidst the serene olive groves of Bracu Estate.
