Campari and Creature Post celebrate first bottle redesign in a decade

Italian Aperitivo, Campari, has unveiled a newly designed bottle in New Zealand inspired by the drink’s birthplace, Milano. It is the bottle’s first redesign in more than ten years.

Campari worked with award-winning, multidisciplinary creative studio, Creature Post, to deliver a light art installation at a trade and media event hosted over aperitivo hour at Auckland’s highest rooftop bar, The Churchill.

“We wanted to fully immerse our guests in the atmosphere and ambience of Milan at its most sophisticated, magical time of night.” says Brad Madigan, Managing Director of Campari.

The light show and the aperitivo event were centered around the Milanese ritual of sharing aperitivi with friends at the end of the day.

“Aperitivo hour is a central part of Milanese culture, often defined by a Campari cocktail like the contemporary-classic Negroni,” says Madigan.

“Aperitivo is similar to what we know as Happy Hour. A couple of hours from late afternoon until early evening to unwind and connect with friends and family over shared drinks and food. It is a true ritual for Italians, and something we’re delighted to share with Kiwis through the brand’s Milanese heritage,” adds Madigan.

Campari served up a variety of aperitivi including Negroni Sbagliato, Campari Spritz, and Milano Torino, accompanied by one-bite bar snacks.

The event also showcased the newly designed bottle in an installation built from 164 bottles of the new-look Campari, set to remain in place at The Churchill during April.

The Churchill will feature a Campari menu throughout April, with a range of traditional classics to bespoke signatures. This selection will be complemented with Milanese-style canapés.

Campari cocktails are available at The Churchill, Tuesday to Saturday from 4pm for the ultimate aperitivo hour.

The new-look Campari bottle is available in New Zealand liquor retailers now.
