AUCKLAND, Today: Creators Aotearoa launched yesterday, offering a unique way for creative marketers to give back without spending a cent.
Jane King, Brand Lead at One NZ, found inspiration for One Good Kiwi from her work, understanding the challenges not-for-profits face in effective marketing communications.
Creators Aotearoa connects smart marketers, who aren’t typically donating money, with charities needing creative help.
“Creators connect good people who, let’s be honest, aren’t so great at creative marketing with creative people who aren’t so great at giving,” says Jane.
“I’m lucky to work with many charities in my day job. They do great work but often get stuck with their marketing plans. Creators Aotearoa connects these charities with creative minds wanting to share their skills for good,” she said.
The platform helps charities and not-for-profits with marketing by hosting their “Need” on creatorsaotearoa.com. Creative marketers – in PR, marketing, strategy, art direction, copywriting, design, social media, and more – can respond.
“This is AWESOME! Love how Jane is using her passion and network for good. We need more humans like her in the world. It is such a great idea because often it’s a where to start, who to talk to problem.” – Laura Casey
With 10 charity needs listed at launch, and one already connected to a Creator within hours, Jane hopes to inspire marketers to do good with their creativity.
Laura Casey from The Cake Detective charity said: “This is AWESOME! Love how Jane is using her passion and network for good. We need more humans like her in the world. It is such a great idea because often it’s a where to start, who to talk to problem.”
Creative marketers browse the Needs, fill out a form, and await a full brief in their inbox.
Though the not-for-profit and marketer need to make the magic happen, Jane hopes Creators Aotearoa will bridge the gap, making worthy causes more creative and effective.
“It might be a social media post idea or longer-term strategic thinking. There are many ways marketers can help not-for-profits. This new volunteering platform connects people and gives marketers the chance to help others,” said Jane.
