Be part of the world’s biggest Haka

AUCKLAND, Today: Raukatauri Music Therapy Trust is gearing up to reclaim the GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS™ title for the largest Haka on Sunday, 29 September 2024, at Eden Park.

They need 10,000 participants to buy tickets for charity and beat the 2014 record of 4,028 people set in France.

“HAKA is far more than just an event,” says Dame Hinewehi Mohi DNZM. “It is a powerful statement of our cultural heritage and a unique symbol of Aotearoa.”

New Zealand’s top agencies and creatives are joining forces to promote and stage this event, donating their time and skills to make it happen.

The event, produced by Mike Mizrahi of Inside Out Productions, will feature live performances from local music icons and is a fully inclusive family event.

“I have staged many epic events all over the world, this one will be unmissable,” says Mizrahi. His impressive resume includes the 2011 Rugby World Cup opening ceremony and other epic events worldwide.

The HAKA identity, designed by Tyrone Ohia, will be central to the campaign. “Haka is a chance for us to come together as a nation to celebrate our culture, our identity and our connection to each other,” said Tyrone.
