AUCKLAND, Today: When someone joins Southern Cross Pet Insurance (SCPI), the first question is, “Do you have a pet?” Melodie Vickars, the new CMO, replied, “Yes – and here she is,” showing her dog Hettie.
“This shouldn’t come as a surprise, as New Zealanders have one of the highest pet ownership rates in the world,” says Anthony McPhail, CEO of SCPI. “We’re lucky to cover over 65,000 pets, and we’re thrilled to have Melodie help us continue growing that community.”
“Her credentials are impeccable, and we know she’ll bring a fresh perspective on the value we deliver to our customers and our mission to protect pet life.”
“I’m really excited to join this team, who are passionate about looking after our furry family members.” – Melodie Vickars
Vickars comes to the Pet team after a successful stint as acting Head of Marketing and Insights for Southern Cross Travel Insurance, and a strong career in brand, marketing, and communications leadership roles at AA Insurance.
“I’m really excited to join this team, who are passionate about looking after our furry family members. They’ve led the way with award-winning campaigns raising awareness for pet insurance, and we’ll continue building on that.”
Vickars moved from the Travel team to the Pet team and officially started in her new role on Monday, 16th September.
