Auckland Football Club (AFC) is exclusively partnering with NZME, providing the opportunity to reach their combined radio, digital and print audience of 3.6 million Kiwis.
NZME is getting behind AFC to support the country’s newest professional sports team, working closely with the club to go beyond general news to create and publish rich content across their multiple platforms and media channels.
“AFC is exciting – it’s the newest professional sports club in the country and NZME is pleased to be supporting the growth of the AFC community from the outset. We’re looking forward to keeping Kiwis in the know with key announcements, behind the scenes insights and opportunities to get close to players and the club through our multiple platforms,” says Emily Travers, NZME’s Head of Commercial Sport, Partnerships & Events.
Football is the one of the most popular sports in New Zealand and AFC being a new team was looking for a media partner to help them build awareness, grow the fan base and support the club.
“NZME’s audience strength brings huge benefits to building the AFC brand in the local market – we can’t wait to be grabbing the digital and newspaper headlines around the country,” says AFC CEO, Nick Becker
“NZME has many trusted, iconic brands in New Zealand’s media landscape, including NZ Herald, Newstalk ZB and The Hits, as well as having some of the most talented media teams in the country.
“Working with NZME means we can continue to build our brand and support for our home games. It’s meaningful for Auckland to have a new football club, and partnering on high-performing campaigns with NZME is integral to reaching our target audience of fans,” Becker added.
The 2024/25 season kicks off in October.
