AUCKLAND, Today: Flicks, Vista Group’s top cinema and streaming guide, just took home a win at Australia’s 2024 Good Design Awards.
The prestigious awards celebrate excellence across 12 design disciplines. Flicks was honoured in the Digital Design category for its standout innovation, recognised on Friday night at the International Convention Centre in Sydney.
The Jury praised Flicks, commenting: “Flicks delivers an exceptional user experience by aggregating cinema and streaming content in a visually appealing and functional manner.
“This year’s Awards reflect the profound ripple effects that exceptional design can have on people, place and planet.” – Rachel Wye
“The Jury praised its thoughtful approach to content discovery and user needs, resulting in a well-designed site that effectively addresses content overload and enhances user engagement.”
“We’re beyond pleased to win this award, maybe a little too pleased,” said Flicks CEO Paul Scantlebury. “Design and usability is at the core of what we do. Distilling the ridiculously diverse landscape of entertainment options into a simple and engaging product is what we’re obsessing over all day. So, for our team to be recognised for that is awesome.”
Rachel Wye, Managing Director of Good Design Australia, remarked, “This year’s Awards reflect the profound ripple effects that exceptional design can have on people, place and planet.”
Flicks was launched in 2005 and is available in Australia, New Zealand, and the UK. It reaches over 22 million users annually with cinema listings, streaming guides, reviews, and editorial content.
