AUCKLAND, Today: Ever notice your broadband slowing down or becoming inconsistent during busy times? If you’re on wireless broadband, these issues might be more common than you think.
Chorus, New Zealand’s largest telecommunications provider, is helping Kiwis understand the differences between broadband options. With fibre available to over 1.5 million homes, their new campaign emphasises consumer education.
The campaign highlights key issues with wireless broadband, like sharing connections through cell towers, environmental signal disruptions, and slower speeds during peak times, compared to fibre’s dedicated connection.
Fibre broadband delivers a consistent, high-performing connection directly to your home. Independent tests, such as Measuring Broadband NZ by the Commerce Commission, show fibre consistently outperforms fixed wireless in speed and reliability.
“Consumers may not realise the trade-offs when choosing broadband. Not all technologies are created equal, and we want more Kiwis to enjoy fibre’s benefits.” – Matthew Daunt
“Competition is heating up in the broadband market, and consumers are increasingly valuing quality broadband in our digitally connected world,” says Matthew Daunt, Brand Lead – Marketing at Chorus. “Our goal is to help consumers make informed choices.”
Daunt adds, “Consumers may not realise the trade-offs when choosing broadband. Not all technologies are created equal, and we want more Kiwis to enjoy fibre’s benefits.”
Steve Cochran, Saatchi & Saatchi Chief Creative Officer, says, “Most of us skip the fine print when signing up for services. We used providers’ own fine print to show the differences in broadband technologies.”
The campaign kicks off today across TV, radio, OOH, and digital display.
