AUCKLAND, Today: The Hits is gearing up once again to support the Sanitarium Weet-Bix™ Kids TRYathlon™ for the 2024–2025 season, celebrating over 15 years of involvement with this iconic event.
A true Kiwi classic, the TRYathlon series is the world’s largest triathlon for kids under 16, encouraging young athletes of all skill levels to swim, cycle, and run age-appropriate courses. Entries are open now.
Starting with just 500 participants in 1992, the event has since become a schoolyard sensation. This season, the 500,000th participant will cross the finish line in one of ten cities nationwide.
“We’re stoked to see our talent immersed in the communities they connect with every day.” – Harriett Whiting
The Hits’ local on-air crews, along with breakfast show hosts Jono Pryor, Ben Boyce, and Megan Papas, will be on hand at each event, cheering on the young athletes.
“We’re stoked to see our talent immersed in the communities they connect with every day,” says Harriett Whiting, general manager of The Hits. “This partnership endures because of the shared values between The Hits and Sanitarium.”
Peter Davis, Sanitarium’s National Marketing Manager NZ, adds, “The TRYathlon began in 1992, and The Hits has been essential in connecting our communities. We’re grateful for the support from NZME and looking forward to another successful season.”
The TRYathlon series runs from November 2024 to March 2025.
